Résumé du livre

Many Americans are proud that they are able to trace their lineage to before American Revolutionary War times. Now my family members will proud to be able to trace their roots to before the constitution was signed, that is, the Polish Constitution of May 3, 1791!As our treasured grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles disappear, so do the stepping stones linking our past to our future. Without the sharing of stories today, we might have no one left to tell us who we are, or how we got here. The past holds important secrets to be uncovered, lessons to be learned and is a pride to be shared. This book is more than just a list of names. Try to imagine all the people who have come before you, their lives. Their experiences and the stories they have left behind have shaped the family we are today.I hope that in the future, someone from my family encounters this book, someone who would be a teacher and tell others about our family. Although we may have been gone many years, this person will learn, teach and remember the stories of who we were and how we lived, and we will have found life again. This person's family will become the new stepping stones, sharing our lives with the generations to come.Perhaps reading this book will help you understand that we must not loose the memories of those who we hold most precious. I am proud that I am helping to preserve my heritage.
