This book is a major new multi-volume finding aid to tens of thousands of biographies, autobiographies and biographical sketches of South Carolinians found in hundreds of volumes of individual and collective biographies; local, state, church, and family histories and periodicals. Each volume is self-indexing for the subjects, and lists the name, birth and death years, primary residences, primary occupations and full source references for more than 10,000 sketches of 17th through 20th century South Carolinians. Separate indexes to occupations and places of residence are provided. The series, if continued, could possibly consist of five volumes.
