One bound volume housed in case, dating from about 1864-1869, a book of advice, poetry, and sayings, along with family details. It belonged to John Murphy (1848-1907), provided to him and authored by his father, Patrick Murphy (1819-1907) upon his departing for the U.S. (Biddeford, Me.) from Peake Coachford, County Cork, Ireland in 1864. Also includes notes pertaining to John Murphy's travel within the U.S. through 1867 and family information through 1869. Also includes two transcription drafts are a part of the collection, as well as obituary for Patrick Murphy.
