Résumé du livre
When the wife of Lorenzo, the finest glassmaker in Venice, dies of a terrible bee sting, he takes his daughter Lucia away to live on a rocky island where there are no bees to sting - but no birds or flowers either. Lorenzo builds an exquisite glass garden and fills it with glass butterflies, glass birds and glass flowers. Time stands still in the glass garden, but it cannot stand still for Lucia, and some years later at carnival time, a glass gondola leaders her to a mysterious masked stranger whose gift of a rose is to pierce the heart of her fragile life.
