Résumé du livre
In 1856, the weaving industry was the core business of the Scottish town of Paisley and at that time the weavers had a pay dispute against the managers. The resolution of the matter was celebrated by the community. A Paisley Shawl is about the weaver considered the most accomplished artisan in Paisley who makes a shawl for his daughter, Ellen. It is about that shawl's journey around the globe from its origins in Scotland to its new home in Australia. In the year 2019, a young Adelaide writer, Claire, finds the shawl hidden in a decorative box. Falling in love with the garment, Claire is compelled to trace the shawl's roots. Through her adventures and investigations, Claire learns to appreciate how the lives of those from the past cast shadows onto to the lives of those from the present.
