Résumé du livre
Catalog of an exhibition first presented at Didier Imbert Fine Art, Paris, October 2-November 30, 1991. The unique way that Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) used photography as an integral part of his creative process in the making of his sculptures stands out in the history of modern art. For him, photography was a primary means of relating to work in progress. Although Brancusi did at times use photography as a tool for documentation, of far greater significance was its role in making his sculptures more visible & more engaging as objects whose forms embody movement & life. Complementing the prints of his individual works are the views of his studio. Over 100 black & white photographs & illustrations.
