Résumé du livre
One area of light-frame wooden building construction that needs research is the mechanism that transfers shear forces between stories. The connection between the bottom of the rim joist and the top plate of the lower wall in conventional construction is of particular interest. A number of failures of this connection have been observed in recent events including the 1994 Northridge earthquake. The research in this report experimentally analyzed 7 different configurations of inter-story connections commonly found in wood-frame buildings.
