Tactical and Skill Approaches to Teaching Sport and Games

This monograph examines the issue of how to teach sports and games to students. It first presents studies of three different approaches to teaching sports in physical education: a skill approach, a tactical awareness approach, and a combined tactical and skill approach. It then describes the results of those studies—looking specifically at what students learn from each approach—and offers implications for practice and future research.
