Résumé du livre
Contemporary copy of the journal of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, July 23-Aug. 7, 1740, which the House ordered to be copied, authenticated with the provincial seal by Gov. Belcher, and sent to John Thomlinson, the province's agent in London. The legislature wished to inform the Court of its compliance with instructions to supply a company of men for the West Indian expedition, to protest Gov. Belcher's lack of partiality in the Massachusetts-New Hampshire boundary dispute, and to request that New Hampshire be provided a separate governor from that of Massachusetts Bay. The document, which contains resolutions of the House and messages of the governor, is written and signed by James Jeffry, Assembly clerk, and is signed by Andrew Wiggin, Assembly speaker. It is attached with ribbon to an Aug. 25, 1740, certification that has been signed by Gov. Belcher and affixed with the seal of the province.
