Résumé du livre

One of a series of books arising from the Gender Equity in Curriculum Reform project. Teacher reference book for English teachers in upper primary and secondary schools. Provides an overview of the ways in which gender is constructed in language practices. Offers strategies for analysing these assumptions and goals in terms of gender implications for the English curriculum. Practical examples are given and sample classroom activities provided throughout the book. Includes a bibliography and index. The author is currently associate professor in education at James Cook University of Northern Queensland. She has much experience with English curriculum issues and has published books on language education.
