Résumé du livre
The purpose of this study was to systematically describe and analyze interrelated changes in population structures and ecological adaptations from 1650 to 1980 of five insular and insular-like Bering Strait Eskimo populations, including Gambell and Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island, King and Diomede Islands, and Wales. More specifically, the problem was to assess interconnections between demographic characteristics and processes and ecological adaptations focused on the cooperative hunting of large marine mammals by boat crews.
