Résumé du livre
Fragmentary correspondence from Harland Coultas to John Torrey, dated only Philadelphia, May 26. In the first page of a letter that accompanies some lichens intended for Torrey's son Herbert (born 1839)and a package for a mutual acquaintence, Coultas begins to address what he believes is a misunderstanding-- involving accusations of theft at the herbarium of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia-- that has caused a falling-out between himself and Torrey. The remainder of the letter is missing. Obsolete plant name Buschbaumia aphylla is mentioned in a crosswritten note.
