Résumé du livre
Selected ancient philosophical fragments of Herakleitos (c. 540-480 BCE) and comments of Diogenes of Sinope (c.404-323 BCE) are brought together with works of art by Ian Balet (1913-2009). The unexpected relationship of Greece's pre-Socratic thinkers to the paintings and prints of the German/American/Swiss artist, make for delightful moments that can at once stir deep psychological insights and shed light on social norms. At one moment the reader will ponder Herakleitos's flowing river, and then consider Diogenes' demand that Alexander the Great get out of his light. This combination of artist and philosophers will make us all a bit wiser.
