This publication identifies the principal elements of what might serve as a pragmatic, bipartisan framework for U.S. policy toward China--one that permits a reasonably stable relationship with an increasingly stronger China and helps to limit the dangers from disagreements with Beijing, especially those, such as Taiwan, that could lead to military confrontations.
