Résumé du livre

Diederix and Goossens stand out from their Dutch colleagues because of their highly personal approach and choice of subjects. Both have a comparable affinity with surreality. The cherish a preference for showing possible everyday, but nonetheless unempasizedly stylized scenes. Their photography strives to frree itself from time and place, to transcend the connection with the subject. Goossens photographs situations, objects and manifestations that appear to him as unreal, 'not for real'. Diederix almost always gathers objects and figures together in settings in order to photograph them. Her composed arrangements have a lot in common with sculptural installations. Both photographers received the liberty to manipulate nature at will, to embellish it for their photographs. Photographs for this exhibition were produced in this manner.
