Annotation **** BCL3 cites the Middle Ages subject. The second of four volumes to be published on the 20th century, the final subset of the series, which is slated to be completed in 1990. Biographical and critical essays (with bibliographies) are arranged chronologically by the writers' birth date. This volume begins with Pio Baroja (1872-1956) and ends with Franz Kafka (1883-1924), covering a total of 22 writers. A comprehensive index will appear as the series' last volume.
