On Spectral Analysis of Runway Roughness and Loads Developed During Taxiing

It is indicated that an extrapolation by elementiary means of results from low taxiing velocities to higher taxiing velocities would lead to conservative results. Oleo-strut friction is shown to be a very important factor in the taxiing problem. With regard to the load-prediction phase of taxiing loads by spectral techniques, much additional work is required, especially with respect to the treatment of the transfer functions.
