This fragment of a document bears the signature of James Madison, in brown ink on cream coloured paper. This is one of a collection of thirty cuttings with autographs acquired by Sir Redmond Barry, in addition to a collection of complete documents, of prominent figures active in the United States of America in politics, the military, and diplomacy, obtained from Colonel James McDonald in Virginia, in the United States, in 1876.
