This document discusses flow monitoring considerations, equipment, and procedures for use with metal mining effluents. It stresses performance-based methods and how such methods should be applied to the mining industry. Topics addressed include the selection, design, & installation of flow measurement systems; development of operation & maintenance procedures; and development of reporting protocols. Guidelines are also presented for system accuracy & calibration and for the selection of monitoring equipment.
