Résumé du livre

The book includes an introduction to Lean Education and the Eight Wastes in Education. Also included is a discussion of Continuous Improvement versus Continuous Initiatives and the familiar flavor of the month. The heart of the book is the presentation of structured, common sense-oriented methods to identify and then address opportunities for improvement. The first method, Value Stream Mapping, is a visual tool to help identify and then roughly prioritize potential opportunities. Value Stream mapping helps an organization see itself using a new set of glasses. The second tool, originating with the Japanese, is a structured approach to Strategic Planning that has been re-designed with educators in mind. Together, Value Stream Mapping and Strategic Planning are an effective combination to identify, prioritize, and address opportunities.
