Résumé du livre
Due to his radicality, Jonathan Meese is considered one of the most enigmatic of contemporary German artists. Over the course of the last 15 years he has created around 100 printed works, which are presented here on a large scale for the first time. The large-format lithographs, etchings and woodcuts generally depict effigies, which, in their stringency, become metaphors of cultural history and the alter ego of the artist. More so than in other works, the eruptive creation of image and the rapid, almost ecstatic working method of the artist is particularly visible in Meese's prints. The catalogue includes an academic catalogue raisonné of his print production up until 2011.
