A boat captain, hired by CIA to "repossess" singlehandedly a U. S. spy ship impounded in Havana, finds the treacherous mission made more difficult by the meddlesome antics of his girlfriend and her zany friend. Reluctantly having to rely on a Cuban human trafficker to find an engineer to repair and operate the ship's engine, he unexpectedly finds that he has to take aboard not only his girlfriend and her friend but a number of Cubans seeking a new life in the U. S. It is an adventure/thriller with serious dangers being overcome by comic missteps, clever thinking, and quirky good fortune.
