Résumé du livre
His account book documents Lee's roles as a farmer and shipmaster. The first page reads "Disbursements of Brigs Nepos on a voyage from Boston to Charleston ... ". Entries include "To portage of 2 letters from J.G. Esq.", "Beef and Vegetables", "1 Gall Gin", and payments for labor. Next Lee documents the "Accounts of Sale and delivery of 100 lbs of Beef, shipd by Thatcher Goddard Esq. onboard Brig Nepos, by Saml Lee, at Charleston SC". He accounts for how the beef was distributed and sold, all for a total of $310.50. The remainder of the account book documents his personal accounts, as well as his agrarian work, including entries for "plowing your garden", and "oxen and plough"; detailed entries such as "Settled all accounts with Naomi Sparhawk to this day and agreed to board her for 50 cents a week hereafter"; and even in 1830 documents the purchase of "a coffin for Mother."
