Ben Barclay lives with, and supports, his widowed mother. They have a mortgage on their home, held by Squire Davenport, who informs Ben's mother that she has three months to pay off, Ben makes a trip to New York City to see if they can get financial help from a rich cousin. Ben must find a way to raise enough money to save his home and support his mother before they lose everything.
