Résumé du livre

In this edict, King Charles expresses gratitude for the people's fidelity and cooperation in maintaining the peace jointly confirmed three years earlier. He acknowledges their help in past defenses against the Northmen and admonishes them to continue steadfastly in keeping the peace and supporting fortification and military efforts. To ensure lasting observance, he announces that the agreed terms — made with the counsel of his faithful — will be committed to writing and mandated to be read and proclaimed in every county and parish by appointed officials and bishops’ ministers so all may fully understand and adhere to them for common safety and honor.
