Anatomy and Systematics of Triculini (Prosobranchia: Pomatiopsidae: Triculinae), Freshwater Snails from Yunnan, China, with Descriptions of New Species

The anatomy and systematics of nine species of Triculinae: Triculini, freshwater snails from Yunnan, China, are presented. Six species are new to science. Seven species are assigned to Tricula, and one each to Delavaya and Neotricula. A synthesis of phenetic relationships is made for the 12 species of Triculini for which anatomical data are available. The synthesis includes distance coefficients and UPGMA generated phenogram and a minimum spanning tree based on 51 characters. The cladistic relationships among genera are given. The ability of these populations to transmit schistosomes is discussed.
