Autobiography of John Hodgson (d. 1683) married a Miss Stancliffe, and had two sons (Timothy and Eleazar) and three daughters (Sarah, Martha, and Lydia). The family leased Coley Hall for only a short time. John has a lengthy career in the British Army. His parentage has not been traced; most of the Hodgsons were non-conformists. Includes pedigree charts for two of the owners of the house: Sunderland family between the early 1500's and 1736, and the Horton family between the mid-1500's and 1736.
