Baker writes to offer his wife's services as an actor "in the line of romps, chambermaids, melodramatic, &c." at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Attached to the letter is a clipping of a letter to the editor of the London Times from Baker, pointing out that the reviewer who had criticized his performance on a recent evening at the English Opera House had confused him with an understudy who took over the role at the last minute.
