Résumé du livre

This dataset is designed for teaching thematic analysis of interviews. These data are provided by Chung Yan Priscilla Kam, a PhD student from the Department of Sociology at the University of Manchester, and are drawn from transcripts from a PhD research project undertaken with 30 social movement activists and participants in Hong Kong in 2016. A national identity label does not reflect the understanding and interpretation of the respondents and their justifications for making certain identity claims. Therefore, individual interviews conducted in this study aim at exploring the complexities and fluidity of national identifications from their perspectives and to address the "what" and "why" questions of certain identity claims. The example focuses on how thematic analysis can be an organic and iterative process that requires researchers to be reflective and sensitive. The dataset files are accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide.
