"The [Lake Cooper] quarry is a unique source of material which is among the oldest rock in Victoria, with the benefit of the minerals released via the fault through the centre and the volcanic movements dating back around 560 million years when eastern Australia was under water and in the tropics and attached to Antarctica. I have created this booklet of mostly photographs of material from the quarry as a source of information for lapidary enthusiasts, and that opened up a lot of interest across the country, as well as providing comparisons with material overseas."--Addendum, page 97.
