Résumé du livre
Duane writes to say that some officers in the Revenue service "have permitted themselves to indulge in intemperate habits," and he calls for a termination to such practices. As Secretary of the Treasury under Jackson, Duane was removed this year on Jackson's order for refusing to withdraw government deposits from the U.S. Bank before meeting of the U.S. Congress.
