The project included a curriculum and conference was designed to generate teaching and scholarly materials about two current social justice issues implicated by the Japanese American internment and redress. These issues 1) the relevance of the World War II Japanese American civil liberties violations to the post-September 11th situation involving Middle Eastern/Arab Americans or undocumented immigrants; and 2) relevance of the successful Japanese American redress movement to reparation claims of other groups.
