Florence Abel Stock (Mrs. Arthur James Stock I) and Her Ancestry

Descendants of Robert Abell (d. 1663) and his wife, Joanna, who left England and arrived at Salem, Ma. on June 12, 1630. He was a son of Frances Cotton Abell. They settled at Weymouth (called "Wessagusset" until 1635), which is in present day Norfork Co., Ma. They had seven children, oldest born in England. Robert Abell died at Rehoboth, Massachusetts in 1663. His widow married William Hyde (d. 1681) in 1667. Joanna Abell died after 1682 and is probably buried in Nor- wich, Connecticut. Descendants live in Massachusetts, Ohio and elsewhere.
