Looming is an edition of 50 unique artists' books made in collaboration by Russell Mills and Ian Walton to record their exhibition at the Eagle Gallery in June 1996, a multi-media installation tracing man's relationship to and inexorable move from the natural world. Each box is 16.5 X 11.5 cms, made as 6 page running leperello [ie leporello] which opens out to 92 cms. One abstract 'fragment' or image runs across the pages in highly worked mixed media (including oil, pigment, collage and gold leaf) on 240gsm Rivoli and bound in individually worked 3mm millboard covers. Each book is boxed with a small unique canvas and litho print and are signed by the artists.--Information provided by the artists.
