The blanket is a thick-walled, right circular cylinder of bare, depleted uranium. This cylinder is 20 5/8 in. in O.D. x 20 5/8 in. high with an 8-in. wall thickness. It was made up of five individual rings stacked upon each other. Top and bottom plugs of depleted uranium completed the blanket after positioning of the core in the reactor.
