Consists of mimeograph? documents (chiefly extracts of minutes), covering the period from the announcement of initial "... meeting of gentlemen interested in the establishment of 'Club Rooms' for the Cyclists, Footballers, Swimmers, and Athletes in and around Sydney" to be held at Rainford's Cambridge Club Hotel Oxford Street on April 20, 1896, to the meetings held at the 4th annual and the special general meeting of the New South Wales Amateur Sports Club on May 21, 1900, at which the motion that "the N. S. Wales Amateur Sports Club should be formed into a Limited Liability Company under the guarantee provisions of the Company Act of 1899" was carried. Includes a circular letter dated 30th April, 1896, signed in ink, H.C. Holden, A.S. Jones, stating that contributory funds of £1.1.0 from various amateur athletic clubs was being sought to contribute towards the support of the club.
