Ada Malone nee Harrison was born near Ultima and lived most of her life there including school days, school concerts, sporting events. Her father was a farm labourer and carried out wheat lumping and channel work. She recalls that Ultima township boasted Ultima Orchestra, Nurse Benson's Hospital, Ultima Bush Nursing Hospital, Cuttle's Store. During Depression years, Ada helped in her mother's boarding house at Ultima. Throughout her adult life she was involved in Country Women's Association, Red Cross, Ladies Auxilary, and as a Sunday School teacher.
