"The Alberta forestry sector was identified by AI-EES as being particularly exposed to variations in energy prices. With the de-regulation of the Alberta power sector, many sectors of Alberta's economy have noted a marked rise in energy cost uncertainty. Investing in energy efficiency opportunities is seen as a means to reduce greenhouse gas footprints, reduce the load on the province's energy grid, and reduce energy costs. This project reflects AI-EES and the WCER's commitment to helping Alberta become a global leader in sustainability and energy efficiency.
