This report presents results of surveys undertaken to gather information on the abundance, distribution, & biology of Tanner crabs in the Wuikinuxv First Nation traditional territory to assess potential for fishery development. The exploratory trap & trawl surveys were carried out in 2004 in the area of Rivers Inlet and Fitz Hugh Sound, British Columbia. Information is included on survey methods, Tanner crab biology, crab catch numbers & catch rates, other species incidentally caught, and crab biological characteristics.
