Maize in Asia

Emerging from a collaborative discussion from several key food-policy makers, this account explores Asia's maize environment and responds to its expansion over the last several decades. The main objectives of the report are to review production, consumption, and trade; highlight environmental policies; analyze incentives; and forecast the maize economy for 2025. This study profiles the seven Asian countries--China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam--that generate more than 90 percent of Asia's maize production and a quarter of the world's supply.
