The inspiration for this study arose from the researcher's sense and inclination that human services leaders need to be both cognizant of the importance of hope and to effectively experience and operationalize hope in their personal and professional lives. From the perspective and experiences of ten human services leaders, purposefully selected based on their reputation of exemplifying and fostering a sense of hopefulness, the researcher described how these leaders conceptualized hope, experienced hope, and sought to foster hope with those whom they served.
