Résumé du livre
In 1902, the Kansas State Teachers' College established the School of Librarianship. 115 years later, the School of Library and Information Management remains one of the most prestigious and innovative LIS programs in the United States. Although the history of SLIM has been discussed in many works, there is no definitive volume that details the history of the celebrated program using the stories of the people who were responsible for its evolution, and the events that shaped its transformation. This volume hopes to accomplish - to some meager degree - what none of the other publications have done. The History and Stories of SLIM is comprised of 50 entries on important figures and events in the organization's history. Each entry captures a piece of how the organization became what it is today, from Gertrude Buck and the first library classes, to the internet hybrid classes and distance cohorts of the modern day.
