In this volume selected examples of assessment in schools in seven OECD countries (France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States) are analysed. It is concluded that assessment procedures are crucial in shaping the process of learning and in achieving the objectives of the stated curriculum.
