The photographic observations of a visitor to China in 2006. Matt Jarvis' photographs have appeared in more 20 magazines and been used for national advertising campaigns. His artistic photography has been exhibited throughout the United States, Canada, and China.In 2006 he went to China to visit friends and acquaintances and traveled in the northeast quarter of the country. He went to rural places where he was the first westerner in years and pilgrimage sites. Living amongst the Chinese people for a month, going to their workplaces, meeting with their families and friends and avoided western tourists.It was a month of lessons that continued teaching even after he returned home. His eyes were opened and now he hopes to show those who read this book China in a new way.
