The thesis takes the architectural model as an object of historical and theoretical enquiry. It focuses on the model's role in design education and examines how the model came to enjoy its centralized position in the curriculum while at the same time remaining marginal to any critical discourse. The central hypothesis holds that the model does not describe architecture so much (if not more) than any building may claim to be.
