Thomas Dulany was born in 1689 in Ireland. He immigrated to America and settled first in Baltimore County. He and his wife, Anne, had at least four sons born in Maryland and North Carolina. The family was living in North Carolina by 1748 and in Onslow County, North Carolina, by 1754. Descendants listed, chiefly some of the descendants of Thomas' grandson, Rev. Benjamin Dulany (1784-1852), of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama, lived in Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere.
