Résumé du livre
A description of the basic concept and operation of VIMCOS, an on- line, real-time game-simulation model that allows a player to function as an Air Force base maintenance controller to select and schedule workloads. Part of the LP-IV study, VIMCOS is made up of the management control information system segment of CAMCOS, plus an environmental simulator that represents the flow of information from remote input/output terminals in a real-world computerized maintenance control system. The controller at his console receives notices of aircraft landings, malfunctions discovered, job starts and ends, and failures to maintain schedules. He may query the system for other information on resources and needs; this information is displayed for him immedicately. The model is decision-oriented. The controller makes all the decisions and the system plays out the results, keeps all the records, and creates the notices and displays. Programming, details are given in AD-698 727. (Author).
