A study of the extent and distribution of Warwickshire's woodland assessing whether much of the country became `woodless' and considering whether the increase in arable land was at the expense of wood pasture rather than coppice. Uses topography, the evidence of charters, place-names and Domesay records in a parish by parish survey of the woodland to assess its distribution, appearance and management.
