Résumé du livre

Five candidate fluids for the 425F bulk oil temperature class of lubricants and one grade 1100 mineral oil were evaluated as to their effect on the rolling contact fatigue life of M-50. Using the diester MIL-L-7808 as a reference oil and B10 life as a criterion, it is shown that only two of the candidate fluids are superior to the MIL-L-7808 as regards rolling contact fatigue life. Two of the fluids evaluated in this program have also been studied in full scale bearing tests. The correlation obtained between these tests and the RC (rolling contact) bench rig results is presented.
