The Purple Notebook is an open and honest "real story" from a mother who parents a son on the Autism Spectrum. The author has described it as a "Love Letter" to her son. The "notes" in this notebook are her son's words to her and purple is his favourite colour. It gives the reader a glimpse into the mind of a child on the spectrum and also some everyday realities of parenting a child with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
